If you haven't been laying under a rock, then you probably know that digital cumbia sounds have been migrating their way up from South America all the way up through Mexico, the States and to the Pacific Northwest. Plus I have also posted a couple of hot mixes with carefully selected jams that really represent what the sound is all about. Cumbia really is a phenomenon jumping its way from humble underground status to mainstream platforms since the late 1800's, each time adopting something new and relevant, whether its cumbia punk-rock to cumbia hip-hop, It's happened. And now the evolution is undoubtedly bass heavy, immersing itself with a world of synths, samplers, dub and mash-ups to give it a future forward feel. Gameboy steps it up again with another mix, with a bunch of hot tracks, and by listening to previous mixes, the evolution is audible. Enjoy.
