DIA DE LOS MUERTOS "DAY OF THE DEAD" FESTIVIDADES WITH WEPA! NOVEMBER 4TH

WEPA! at it again pushing the Latin flavors again and again here in Vancouver, this time with a Dia De Los Muertos celebration.  While Halloween is kind of a meaningless satanic holiday, which is all about getting fucked up at over-priced clubs and  being turned on by chicks in slutty Osama Bin Laden costumes, the day of the dead thing is actually about something.  The Dead.   Going down at W2 Media which has fast become a pillar for wicked, underground bass shows here in Van City.  So if you didn't know, now you know!   This is part of a black light series, so expect neon painted environments with black lights and fucked up visuals with Cumbia laced bass grooves and other weird shit that makes you want to dance.  Check out some beats from the crew!

"A large part of the day is almost mocking death," says Dustin Zwaryck, a.k.a. Gameboy of the Vancouver-based music crew WEPA!. "It's respectful but makes light of death, which is an inherent part of life. Day of the Dead helps us understand that once you accept death you can live a much fuller life."

To read more about this special event check out Gameboy as he sits down W2 Media Cafe for a brief interview.   [here]
